Late 19th Century Country Village Landscape Oil Painting Signed
This is a fantastic American oil painting by a very talented artist. The painting is signed in the lower right corner, but the signature is illegible to us. We have attempted to identify the artist and keep coming up puzzled.
The painting has a European feel to it, but the painting is created on Fulton Canvas Board supplied by Devoe and Raynolds in Chicago and New York.
A fine country village with a row of stucco buildings, the largest topped with a cross. A wide path winds past the village and out into the countryside. Across from the buildings stands a very large rock flanked by trees.
Original oil on canvas board. Dimensions 20″ x 16″. The frame measures 23″ x 19″.
The painting is in fine antique condition and sits loosely in the frame. The frame is lightly distressed.
